Ink Smashed Artists are a drawing group consisting of three Calgary-born visual artists, Joel Monea, Helen Young and Mark Eadie. Upon completing studies at the Alberta College of Art and Design, they quickly realized they had a strong artistic connection and proceeded to collaborate on an abundance of illustrations and artwork.

 

As much as the trio exists because of their similarities, it is the differences of the three uniquely minded individuals that bring something completely different to the table. Coming together as a collaborative group was a natural progression for the Ink Smashed Artists, sharing a strong passion for drawing and producing work saturated with humour and bizarre, uninhibited surrealism. Organic flow is prominent while the art making process occurs. There are no rules; just problem solving and trusting one another's artistic visions in order to create a cohesive piece.
